Global Source programs are aimed at meeting the needs of elementary
and secondary education in the Pacific Northwest, and
are consistent with state and national standards. We
help WA State public school educators develop curricula
that are tied to the State Frameworks developed to meet
the Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALR's).
In particular, our institutes support the goals for
"responsible citizenship" outlined in the Social Studies
CBA's (Classroom-based Assessments).
Our professional development is designed with
the academic oversight of academic institutions, like
the Center for Programs in Education at Antioch University
Seattle, to help participants demonstrate competencies
congruent with professional and graduate credit requirements
and endorsement approval program for Washington State
social studies certification.
"Social studies in
Washington State contributes to developing responsible
citizens in a culturally diverse, democratic society
within an interdependent world. Social studies equips
learners to make sound judgments and take appropriate
actions that will contribute to sustainable development
of human society and the physical environment."

Instruction
