A Locally Grown Farm and Food Experience!

Looking out on Suyematsu/Bentryn Farms
Join us for a Summer full of learning, playing games and having fun while investigating and experiencing life on Bainbridge Island’s most historic agricultural landscape. Farm Hands is a seasonal, fresh and local afterschool and summer program for elementary age children. It offers young people lived experiences on working landscapes that cultivate farm stewardship and food citizenship.
Who:
Junior Farm Hands is for children entering grades K-2
Unfortunately, due to low enrollment we have had to cancel Senior Farm Hands for children entering grades 3-6. Please stay tuned for Senior offerings coming this Fall.
When:
Session 1:June 28th-July 2nd
Session 2:July 5th-July 9th
Session 3: July 12th-July 16th (session has been cancelled)
Each Session will run Monday-Friday, 9:30am-12:15pm
Where:
Historic Suyematsu-Bentryn Farms, 8989 Day Rd. East, Bainbridge Island
(drop off and pick up at Bainbridge Island Winery parking lot)
Farm Hands Juniors will focus on Farm Ecology:
• Learning about local plant and animal communities
• Tending to farm animals (chickens, draft horses) and other daily chores
• Studying field, forest and pond habitats
• Investigating plant life cycles and getting to know your food!

Tuition per Session:
For Juniors: $135
Farm fresh snacks included
Reduced tuition, sibling and returning family discounts available. Contact us for more information.
Minimum Enrollment: 6; Max: 12
