Farm Hands: Fall 2010
A Locally Grown After School Program

Children helping with the garlic harvest at Laughing Crow Farms
Join us after school this harvest season for fun and learning on Bainbridge Island’s most historic farm! We will spend the afternoons learning what it takes to be farm stewards and food citizens.
Who:
Children grades 1-4
When:
Monthly Program - 1 session left! November 3, 2010, 11:30-5:00pm *BYO Lunch*
* We will do a special pickup for Wilkes students
Where:
Historic Suyematsu-Bentryn Farms, 8989 Day Rd. East, Bainbridge Island
(drop off and pick up at Bainbridge Island Winery parking lot)
Fall Farm Hands Activities Include:
- Introduction, investigation, and tasting of locally grown, seasonal harvest from the farm
- Learning about sowing and tending autumn crops at our edible education plot at Morales Farm
- Participating in service learning projects for farmers
- Learning about local habitats and wildlife

Taking in the beauty of Suyematsu/Bentryn Farms during the Spring 2010 afterschool program
