Teachers know there is something profoundly important at the heart of why, what, and how they teach. They know their teaching must
go far beyond requirements for basic standards. Along with parents and community members, teachers know that schools can be a fertile ground to prepare
young people to be aware and responsible contributors to a 21st century world of unprecedented interdependence, challenge and possibility.
At Global Source we believe that students will be better prepared for life through greater awareness of the justice inherent in human rights, the necessity of living in greater harmony with the natural world, and a better understanding of other cultures.
Some amazing stories and beneficial community connections have emerged from our dialogues and institutes. Teaches and community members
consistently find these experiences both inspiring and a way to connect with colleagues and up-to-date resources.
Responsible citizenship, community stewardship and inspired scholarship are the common ground for Global Source programs.
- We are dedicated to building stronger bridges between classrooms and communities
and developing professional learning communities.
- We provide teachers with best practices for instruction and assessment in areas of sustainability, human rights and social studies.
- We encourage teacher leadership by providing lived experiences such as bearing witness field trips and dialogues that
offer curricular inspiration for educators who in turn are better prepared to bring learning more alive for their students.
- Global Source programs provide valuable opportunities connect with and share your own work with other educators and
practice communication skills such as compassionate listening.
