Venerable
Thubten Chodron is Spiritual Director of Dharma Friendship
Foundation. Ordained as a Tibetan nun in 1977, she travels
the world as a teacher of Buddhism and meditation, including
most recently her third trip to Israel. Her books include
Open Heart, Clear Mind, What Color is Your Mind? and Blossoms
of the Dharma: Living as a Buddhist Nun.
Rabbi Ted Falcon, Ph.D is rabbi of Bet Alef Meditational Synagogue
and a practicing psychotherapist. Founder of two synagogues
for Jewish Meditation, and rabbi for 31 years, he travels
extensively teaching Kabbalistic approaches to Jewish identity
and tradition. He is author of A Journey of Awakening: 49
Steps from Enslavement to Freedom.
The Seattle Jewish-Buddhist Dialogue (SJBD) is a community-based
innerfaith and cross-cultural project dedicated to an educational
and spiritual exploration of common ground shared between
the religious traditions of Buddhism and Judaism and the cross-cultural
connections between Tibetan and Jewish experiences. The SJBD
was founded by Bet Alef Meditational Synagogue, Dharma Friendship
Foundation, and Tibet Education Network at Global Source.
Ven. Thubten Chodron and Rabbi Ted Falcon are spiritual leaders
of The Seattle Jewish-Buddhist Dialogue.
